Effortless and Fabulous: Unveiling Quick Makeup Secrets for Busy Individuals on the Go

Are you looking to feel confident with your makeup but strapped for time?

As amazing as it would be to have lots of time for pampering and makeup every day, it can feel like a challenge between personal, family, and career commitments. It can be overwhelming to have so many products and so little time.

In this piece, I will share all my tips for fabulous makeup on the go, where you can still look and feel your very best without the need for numerous products.

Our first secret: It's all in the eyes

As cliche as this expression might sound, it really is all in the eyes.

The skin around our eyes is often the first area that reveals signs of tiredness or exhaustion. The good news is that there are a few key areas to focus on. Investing in a good eye cream is worth it, and the Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado is a hero product. Not only is it fragrance-free, making it perfect for sensitive under eyes, but it also provides instant hydration. Applying an eye cream before concealer helps minimise creasing and gives a fresher look to the under-eye area.

Moving on, concealer is essential for quick makeup application. It's worth investing in a good concealer to provide coverage for dark circles, pigmentation, and blemishes. For targeted coverage in problem areas, you can try spot application of concealer to create a smoother base without the need for foundation. Some of my favourites include the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer and the Nars Soft Matte Concealer.

Don't overlook the power of a good mascara in opening up the eyes. The right mascara can curl your lashes, making your eyes appear more awake. Two of my favourites are the MACStack mascara and the MAC In Extreme Dimension Mascara.

If you struggle with watery eyes, I would recommend the MAC In Extreme Dimension Waterproof Mascara to prevent smudging and running.

Achieving a flawless base on-the-go without a full coverage foundation

As much as I adore a flawless, full base, there are numerous fantastic options for quick, on-the-go makeup that doesn't require rushing the application of a full-coverage foundation.

A tinted moisturiser is an excellent choice for on-the-go coverage. My absolute favourite is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector. It gives your skin a natural, glowing coverage that feels lightweight. Think your skin on a really good day! If you have oily skin, there's also an oil-free version available. You can apply it with your hands like a moisturiser or with a buffing brush.

Spot correcting problematic areas with a fuller coverage concealer is a great way to achieve a smoother-looking base without necessarily applying foundation. Some of my favourites include the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer and the Nars Soft Matte Concealer.

Another product that I love and have mentioned in previous blogs is the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter. You can use this on its own for a radiant complexion.

Using cream products is a fantastic way to add warmth to the skin and enhance the complexion. Two of my favourites for a lit-from-within radiance are the Chanel Les Beiges Bronzing Cream and the Nars Liquid Blush.

Brows

A brow pencil is my go-to for achieving speedy, defined brows. Well-groomed brows can truly help frame the face. If you're in a hurry,, simply brush your brows up with a spoolie and add light hair strokes to fill in any sparse areas. Additionally, using a tinted brow gel is a great option as it helps create the illusion of fuller brows.

Lips on the go

A clear or nude-coloured gloss is an excellent option for achieving a youthful look. For fair skin tones, my go-to choice is the Fenty Fussy Gloss. For deeper complexions, I recommend the Fenty Glow Gloss. Both of these glosses provide a non-sticky, high-shine finish.

What if I only have 5 minutes to do my makeup everyday?

If you're truly pressed for time, you can streamline this routine to include tinted moisturizer, brows, mascara, and lip gloss. These steps will help enhance your complexion and are perfect for manic mornings.
